The Wrestler

He was once a great wrestler loved by crowds, while today, he lives on hardship by performing for small matches.

But when serious health problems seize him, he decides to quit sport once and for all.

Trying to reconnect with his daughter and find a regular job is not easy; he has been used to being a fighter all his life.

Then when the opportunity arises for a big match full of crowds, he will have to decide if it’s worth risking his life.

Mickey Rourke‘s outstanding performance inside a role closely resembles his life and acting career’s adversities.

Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood are also amazing: her stripper lover and the second as the problematic introverted daughter.

A movie masterfully directed by Darren Aronofsky with his refined style and taste in visual choices, always keeping the viewer close to the characters.
